Onboarding Process

Onboarding Process

We are dedicated to providing innovative investment management consulting that is tailored to your investment objectives, risk tolerance and tax considerations. Upon the decision to work together, we will gather information about your individual needs and goals around which our Financial Advisors and Certified Financial Planner®, practitioners will design a risk-managed portfolio through the following steps.

Our Investment Planning Process:

1. Conduct a fit meeting
This is our chance to hear about both your short- and long-term goals as well as hear what your priorities are. You’ll have a chance to learn more about the team and ask any questions you have. This is just a chance to get to know each other, and no commitments are made during this initial interaction.

2. Begin a formal relationship
After the FIT meeting, we give you a few days to discuss and reflect with your loved ones and then we check in with you to see if you wish to move forward with The Pidgeon Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. This isn’t a formal commitment, but this is saying “yes I am interested in The Pidgeon Group of Wells Fargo Advisors and I want to learn more”. This is when we send you compliance documents, Form CRS and RegBi. These documents allow us to share detailed financial information in compliance with regulatory requirements.

3. Gather data and develop goals
The second onboarding meeting is our data gathering meeting, where we create a holistic view and deep dive into your financial situation. We understand all of your assets, debts, income, and savings. This is where we start to write down your written plan and understand what are your firm goals and which ones are less of a priority.

4. Analyze and evaluate your financial status
In preparation for our third and final onboarding meeting, we begin to create a tailor-made investment plan for you and your family. This includes an analysis of your existing portfolio in accordance with your current risk tolerance and time horizon, a strategic asset allocation recommendation, and a customized eMoney plan.

5. Present recommendations
In our third and final onboarding meeting, we present our recommendations to you. This is where we introduce eMoney and recommend what brokerage accounts to open with the proper investment objective associated with them based on your goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance. We encourage you to ask as many questions as you please. If you agree, then we proceed to the next step.

6. Implement recommendations
If you accept the recommendations we make in the third onboarding meeting, then we move forward with receiving the rest of your personal information and begin opening accounts and agree upon a check-in schedule moving forward. Portfolio reviews with eMoney reports typically occur annually, but we are always available to meet if a major life event occurs or you have any urgent questions.

7. Review progress and realign as needed through the eMoney   process during portfolio review meetings
The team will be checking in with you periodically to discuss necessary, timely changes we recommend you should make to the portfolio and to see if there are any changes happening in your life. Unlike other lines of business, you are welcome to call, email, or contact us via our business texting numbers 24/7 and we are always happy to assist in a timely manner. We are here to serve you and your family.

Based on accepted statistical methods, eMoney uses a mathematical process used to implement complex statistical methods that chart the probability of certain financial outcomes at certain times in the future. This charting is accomplished by generating hundreds of possible economic scenarios that could affect the performance of your investments. Using Monte Carlo simulation this report uses up to 1000 scenarios to determine the probability of outcomes resulting from the asset allocation choices and underlying assumptions regarding rates of return and volatility of certain asset classes. Some of these scenarios will assume very favorable financial market returns, consistent with some of the best periods in investing history for investors. Some scenarios will conform to the worst periods in investing history. Most scenarios will fall somewhere in between.
