Our History

The Pidgeon Group has been recognized for its quality, integrity and longevity since its founding by James M. Pidgeon in 1955. In 1981, James was joined by his son, Timothy, in a predecessor firm, Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards. Multiple generations of clients have remained with the practice since its inception. The Pidgeon Group has withstood numerous market cycles, mergers and consolidations. Since 2008, The Pidgeon Group has been affiliated with Wells Fargo Advisors.

Founded in 1955, The Pidgeon Group's enduring legacy and client relationships are measured in generations. Our Team

Timothy Pidgeon

Timothy Pidgeon has provided customized equity and fixed income portfolio management strategies to clients throughout the United States since 1981. As Managing Director-Investments of The Pidgeon Group, Timothy is responsible for clarifying client objectives, determining strategic and tactical asset allocation policies, selecting portfolio managers and reviewing results. Timothy began his career at Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors. A San Francisco native, Timothy earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration and his MBA from San Francisco State University in 1979 and 1981, respectively. Timothy has earned Series 7, Series 63, Series 65, and a California State Insurance License.

Timothy is an active member of his community. He has served on the Board of Regents and was a Trustee of his alma mater, St. Ignatius College Preparatory. He is also Chairman Emeritus of the Investment Committee of the Olympic Club. Timothy is a former Board Member of the San Francisco Bond Club, the Mill Valley Soccer Club, the Ross Valley Soccer Club, the EVEREN Foundation, President and Board member of the Greenbrae Property Owners Association, and The Marin County Community Services District #13. Timothy lives with his wife, Alice, in San Rafael, California. They have two children, a son who is a recent graduate of Bentley University, and a daughter who is a recent graduate of the Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business. In his free time, Timothy enjoys hiking, fishing, and traveling.

Alice Pidgeon

Alice Pidgeon, CFA is a financial consultant and serves as the chief investment analyst for our team. She joined The Pidgeon Group in 1991, contributing her experience in asset allocation and portfolio analysis. She specializes in mutual fund selection and managed money programs. Alice began her career in New York City as a research analyst with the investment firms Pershing, Alliance Capital Management, and DLJ. Alice moved to San Francisco in 1984 and joined Wells Fargo Bank, where she managed $250 million in retirement plan assets. She earned a bachelor's degree in finance and marketing from Georgetown University in 1980 and achieved the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst in 1991. As a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), she is a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco and the CFA Institute.

Alice lives in San Rafael, California with her husband, Timothy, and has two grown children. She actively volunteers at their church and in the greater community. Alice enjoys playing tennis, practicing yoga, and traveling.

Robert Hamill

Robert Hamill is primarily responsible for portfolio analysis at The Pidgeon Group, focusing on asset allocation and risk control. Robert specializes in equities, mutual funds, tax-advantaged bonds, and other fixed income investments. He is particularly experienced in working with retirement plans, as well as investment products, such as 529 College Savings Plans and Donor Advised Funds. Another specialty of Robert is Envision Investment Planning - a process in which client goals are stress tested to help determine how likely one is to achieve them.

Robert's career in the financial services industry began in 1996. While a student at the University of San Francisco, he worked as an intern with The Pidgeon Group of EVEREN Securities, a predecessor of Wells Fargo Advisors. Upon his graduation, Robert accepted full time employment with The Pidgeon Group. Robert has earned several industry licenses, including Series 7, Series 63, Series 66, and a California State Insurance License. In 2006, he obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional certification. He is also a Notary Public.

Robert is a Cub Scout den leader and also volunteers as Recording Secretary for the Bay Area Chapter of Little People of America. He is a member of the San Francisco Bond Club and the North Bay Regional Council for the Alumni Association of the University of San Francisco. Robert lives in Kentfield, California with his wife and three children. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and cooking.

Tony Rivera

Tony began his career with The Pidgeon Group of Wells Fargo Advisors as a Registered Client Associate in 2007. As a CFP® Professional and SENIOR REGISTERED CLIENT ASSOCIATE, Tony assists Pidgeon Group clients with investment services such as asset management, retirement planning, estate investment planning, insurance, risk management and taxation. He works closely with our clients’ other trusted professional advisors, such as Certified Public Accountants and Estate Planning Attorneys, to develop investment portfolio strategies that best fit each individual’s needs. Tony holds Series 7 and Series 66 registrations and a California State Insurance License. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003.

Tony is a Los Angeles native, but now lives in San Francisco’s Cole Valley. He is a member of the Bay Area chapter of the Loyola High School of Los Angeles Alumni Association and is a member of the University of California at Berkeley Alumni Association. He is also involved with several Bay Area philanthropic organizations and in his free time, enjoys golfing and traveling. 

Ann Fitzpatrick

Ann Fitzpatrick became a member of the Pidgeon Group in 2019 as a Senior Registered Client Associate. She facilitates client trades, account operations, asset movement, and risk management strategies. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Skidmore College; she holds Series 7, 63, and 65 Securities Registrations as well as a California Insurance License. Ann formerly worked at Charles Schwab in various enterprises including capital markets and trading, employee stock plan services, retirement plan services, and Schwab 500 – a team that was responsible for managing the top 500 retail households in the firm. Ann is originally from Western New York and now lives in San Francisco. She volunteers at The St. Anthony Foundation. Ann enjoys reading, photography, and traveling.

Payton Wolcott

Payton became a member of The Pidgeon Group in early 2018 as a Client Associate and is just beginning his career. His primary responsibilities in this role include assisting with asset movement, client account maintenance, and providing administrative support for the team. Payton graduated from the University of Oregon in 2017 with two Bachelor’s Degrees in History and German, and, as a part of his degrees, studied abroad at the Freie Universität Berlin and the Universität Heidelberg, Germany.

Payton volunteers along with his family at Monument Crisis Center in Concord, California. He is currently living with his family in Lafayette, California. In his free time, Payton enjoys hiking, playing music, and reading.


Our Internship Program

The Pidgeon Group internship program was established in 1985 to prepare future financial advisors and leaders of tomorrow. We provide our interns with a rigorous and thorough introduction to the investment world. Our internship program participants receive exposure to The Pidgeon Group's wealth management and estate management investment planning philosophy and an opportunity to interact with top executives of the firm and public companies.
